About STAR Health
STAR Health provides health care to children in the Texas foster care program. Superior HealthPlan offers the services in all 254 Texas counties under a contract with Texas Health and Human Services (HHS). Superior works with many doctors, clinics and hospitals to care for children in foster care. Learn more about Superior HealthPlan.
STAR Health members can get regular checkups, exams, primary care and specialist care when needed. Superior wants to help all children in foster care get well and stay well.
STAR Health offers:
- An Integrated Medical Home where each child has access to Primary Care Providers (PCPs), behavioral health clinicians, specialists, dentists and vision services.
- Care Coordination services to help you understand benefits, get help with appointments, find transportation assistance and identify local community resources.
- Training programs that provide clinical expertise and program information for families, caregivers, caseworkers and other child advocates.
Since 2008, Superior HealthPlan has supported children in foster care. This includes Foster Care Centers of Excellence (FCCOE).
