Emergency Behavioral Health Support

Children and youth in STAR Health, as well as their caregivers and families (including kinship families), have access to Turning Point programs.
These programs offer emergency assessment, crisis respite and crisis intervention to help families avoid behavioral health ER visits and inpatient admissions. You do not need a referral to access services. The programs are offered at no cost.
Benefits of these programs include:
- Mental health assessment.
- Crisis respite.
- Counseling.
- Referrals to additional services and resources, as needed.
Through Turning Point, children and youth in STAR Health and their caregivers can get help to prevent hospitalizations and disruptions in placement.
- Learn more about the ACH Turning Point program in Dallas/Fort Worth. This Turning Point program is a partnership among ACH Child and Family Services, Empirica and Superior.
- Support is also available for STAR Health members and their families in the South Plains. Services are offered through a partnership between Texas Girls & Boys Ranch Turning Point program and Superior.
