Pediatric Heart Surgery Providers: New Incentive Program Opportunity

Date: 03/16/16

Superior HealthPlan (Superior) is working to increase quality and value of the services provided to its members. To that end, Superior has an opportunity for pediatric heart surgery providers to offer innovative, high value solutions that improve service delivery and health outcomes. Superior will be establishing a value-based Center(s) of Excellence (COE) network for pediatric heart surgery. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released to pediatric heart surgery providers treating Superior members. Superior’s goal for its value-based pediatric heart surgery network is to reward high performing pediatric heart surgery providers by creating a COE network in which the provider(s) selected for COE designation will be a recommended provider for Superior members to receive high quality care.

Any pediatric heart surgery provider seeking to be included in the COE, must review and submit a response to Superior’s RFP.

Pediatric heart surgery providers will have (60) days from today, March 16, 2016, to submit their response to the RFP.

Specific guidelines regarding information, submission and timelines are defined in the RFP. All submissions should be complete and describe in detail the information being requested.

Once the RFP submission period ends, Superior will have 90 days to review submissions and make a decision on which provider(s) will be designated as a value-based pediatric heart surgery provider. Those providers will then be contacted by Superior to begin the provider designation process.
