UPDATED: COVID-19 Updates for Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Providers
Date: 12/03/20
Superior HealthPlan is committed to providing LTSS providers with the most current information and guidance related to processes and procedures impacted by COVID-19. Below are a few updates related to home visits, authorizations, claims and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) guidelines.
Home Visits
Superior has temporarily suspended all in-home visits with members until further notice.
LTSS Authorizations
Superior is continuing to authorize and/or extend member authorizations for services. If you are not able to service members, your facility closes or if you identify other services that members may need, please contact Superior Provider Services at 1-877-391-5921.
Claims and EVV
Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) is implementing the Cures Act EVV requirement for program providers and financial management services agencies (FMSAs) delivering Medicaid Personal Care Services (PCS). In response to COVID-19, HHS extended the deadline to May 1 (from April 1) for program providers and FMSAs to select an EVV system and begin the onboarding process.
In response to COVID-19, HHS has also issued temporary EVV policies, effective March 21, 2020 through December 31, 2020*. These temporary policies include a temporary hold on EVV claim matching, however, all existing claim processing rules will continue to be applied. Superior will continue to adjudicate claims according to contractual timeframes.
Please note: The temporary policies will not extend beyond December 31.
Additional direction and decisions are expected and will be communicated as new guidance is received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), HHS and health-care regulators. Superior will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
